The literal meaning of the word “Deusa” signifies the “female equivalent of God “, and in the Indian mythology, it is often symbolized as a “mother", who gives birth to all life forms, nourishes them through her body, forms a protective figure against all destruction and the one, who embodies the bounty of the earth. The organization could not have been more aptly named, for all its heart lies in our prime motto of protecting and nourishing the underprivileged sections of the society and a lifelong aspiration to see them to be able to stand on their feet as independent, content and integrated members adding value to the society. Hence, our tagline goes as, “making youth not only job ready but future ready too“.

The government of India is striving to create an inclusive India and taking steps that can catapult India to the status of a global superpower that it rightly deserves, but at the same time, we should take cognizance of domestic issues, like unemployment, lack of education, poor healthcare facilities, to name a few, which continue to pose hurdles in the progress of the nation. These social, political and economic issues are meant to be taken into consideration, in order to improve the prevailing condition of our society.

And following the Modi Government’s policy of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat“, it is our endeavour at the Deusa Foundation, to reach the remotest corners of the nation and to work for the upliftment of the economically weaker sections of the society so that they can thrive in the challenging world. But with a population of 1.38 billion citizens, more than half the population is estimated to be below 25 years of age. This statistic reflects the competition for employment in every industry and we all know for sure that only the most skilled would be preferred. Therefore, to help youth move closer to their career goals, Deusa Foundation have been formed with the sole purpose of reaching out and bridging the gap by providing a need-based training on soft skills, technical skills, and Vocational skills.

The idea of the Deusa Foundation was conceived in the minds of two enterprising educationists Ms. Urchula Deori and Mr. Shashank Kumar Singh that led to its formation in the year 2021.

Both the founders hail from two different Indian states and hence they were strangers to each other until they joined Sri Aurobindo Society, as pedagogical trainers, where they had to venture into the remotest corners of the nation, to train the teachers at the government schools. And while doing so, they witnessed socio-economic hardships of villagers and their innumerable challenges to make their ends meet. So, from the lingering thought of wanting to do something to travelling to the remotest areas to motivate the government school teachers, and then eventually founding the Deusa Foundation, it has been a very long journey, the journey that has been one of discovery with an ever-deepening realization that each one of us can make a difference. All we must do is to activate that choice to bring about the changes that are so needed. And as we open to transformation within ourselves, society also transforms; every change that each individual makes, creates a chain of reaction that benefits all.

The aim and mission of our organisation is all about bridging the gap and to make our youth not just job ready but “Future Ready” too and making India Aatmanirbhar, because empowering the youth is the most effective mean that society possesses for confronting the challenges of the present and the future. Our keys to empowering youth is by providing employable skills, experiential learning environment by giving easy access to tools and materials as well as professional support and also by ensuring socio-linguistic equality and providing inclusive quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. Hence, by empowering the youth, we will be able to build a strong Indian economy of tomorrow.

It is not only about climbing up the hill and excelling at a personal level. It is also about all the lives that we obscured in our way to excellence. In the words of Graham Brown: “Life is about choices. Some we regret, some we are proud of. Some will haunt us forever. The message: We are what we choose to be.
