About TITP

Administered by the Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO), TITP commenced in 1993 in Japan. The program aims to contribute to developing countries by accepting its people and transferring skills through On-the-job Training (OJT) in Japan. It promotes international cooperation through transfer of skills, techniques and knowledge gained by technical interns to the developing nations. This will not only contribute to the human resource development but will drive economic growth of the said regions.


Why Japan and TITP?

Aging Population – JAPAN’s average age is above 48 years with almost no young people to work thus facing shortage of workforce. In comparison, India’s average age is 26 years. As per some recent studies, the population of JAPAN is further expected to shrink by 30% to 40% by 2030. The Japanese government has introduced the TITP program which aims at hiring overseas trainees to fill the vacant jobs in various Japanese Companies for a period of 3-5 years. The aim is to train these trainees so that they can utilize their acquired skills in their respective home countries on return. Presently over 2.5 lacs overseas trainees from Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, Philippines, Nepal & Bangladesh are working in JAPAN. Recently, the Government of JAPAN has tied up with the Government of INDIA to hire trainees under TITP from INDIA. As of March 2021, already 220 candidates from India have gone to JAPAN under TITP

As a Nursing Care Worker in Japan

Nursing Care Worker is a category where candidates will learn the advanced skills of caregiving while undergoing internship in Japanese Caregiving facilities for a period of 3-5 in Japan and shall be primarily engaged in physical care which shall include the following:

  •  Care for Mobility
  •  Care for Dressing and Disrobing
  •  Care for Meals
  •  Care for Bathing and Bodily
  •  Care for Excretion


Eligibility Criteria

  •  Japanese Language Proficiency: Mandatory N4 Level certification in Japanese language
  •  Age: Up to 30 Years
  •  Minimum Qualifications: 10+2
  •  Any Nursing Certificate (ANM/ GNM preferred)
  •  Disciplined, soft-spoken, & well-behaved individuals


What is ‘Specified Skilled Worker’?

"Specified Skilled Worker" is a new residency status that was introduced by the Government of Japan in April 2019, under which aspiring Indian youth can take up a job and stay in Japan. Japan introduced ‘Specified Skilled Worker’ to address the severe labor shortages in Japan by accepting foreign human resources with specific expertise and skills. As of January 2021, Japan has signed SSW Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with 13 nations including India. India and Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in January 2021 for the implementation of ‘Specified Skilled Worker’ between India and Japan.
Target Segment
Accepts foreign nationals (18 years old or above) with considerable degree of knowledge or experience belonging to a specific sector.
Japanese language level required
Proficiency in Japanese language required in daily life and at the workplace needs to be confirmed by Japanese language exams. Those who have completed three years in Technical Intern Training are exempted from the exams.
Period of stay
Currently up to 5 years in total. Accompaniment of family members isn’t permitted.
